And it’s just as much of a time suck as I thought it would be. Trying to resist those stupid application invites is like trying to avoid chocolate cake (and I love chocolate cake). Seriously, why can’t I just click ignore and be done with it. Nooooooooooo I have to accept them (well most of them)… then become obsessed about leveling up and giving out free gifts (if only some of them were real). Now I’m stuck farming. Really, farming? I’m from Chicago I’ve never even been to a farm. If only I could make myself stop. There has to be rehab for people like me.
Okay, I won’t lie there are perks. Half my family is on facebook (it’s their fault I joined in the first place). I love the fact that I can still keep in touch with them even though we are 500 miles apart. I like seeing their pictures and hearing about their lives. I feel like I still get to be a part of things (in a way) even though I’m not there… but damn those applications. Facebook should come with a disclaimer!

I’m Back
Did you miss me? Well, here’s a nice little update on my life. This past year, I moved to a new place, took on more responsibility at work (hopefully with some more pay to come shortly), got married to my sweetie on our eight year anniversary, participated in a mentor program with the most awesome mentor ever AND three months ago I had a baby. Yes I’ve been doing a lot which is why I’ve been MIA (please still love me).
The new place… well it could use some sprucing up but it’ll do. The work… well it’s work. The marriage is awesome. Our relationship is the same wonderful relationship we’ve always shared and now we have a nice license and pretty rings… which are lovely. The mentor program couldn’t have been any better. I had (have) the best mentor ever. (Hi Cup!) I’ve learned so many awesome things about writing and how to improve my writing. The great thing is it’s already paying off. One of my CP’s said my latest WIP is the best thing I’ve written and she could barely pay attention to the edits because she got so sucked into the story (SCORE!). Ahem… moving on. The baby is wonderful. He (yes I now have two boys) is wonderful and cute and sweet and cute and precious and did I mention cute? Being a mom so agrees with me. *happy sigh*
So that’s what’s been up with me. I am back and more determined than ever to turn out these WIPs. Stay tuned!
